Hobie Cottage is a
terraced property situated on the seafront in the
picturesque, quiet and friendly village of Torcross.
Although built in the mid 1800's the property has
been recently fully modernised and is generously
equipped, ideal for the family self-catering summer
or anytime holiday or indeed for individuals looking
to "get away from it all" by the sea and in
the countryside from one location. Off-road parking
for one vehicle is supplied by permit. |

On the ground floor
(sea facing) is the comfortable sitting room with
TV, Video and DVD player, HI FI and a selection of
music and films. Through to the dining room and
there is ample seating for up to six. The kitchen
has an electric cooker, microwave and all the usual
appliances and crockery etc. for up to six people.
The utility room beyond has a washing machine,
tumble dryer and dishwasher and provides access both
to the rear deck (and rear entrance) and downstairs
loo. |

The first floor has
two bedrooms separated by a modern bath and shower
room. |

Facing the sea,
bedroom 2 provides a standard double bed, dressing
table and plentiful wardrobe space whilst bedroom 3
is arranged with a three foot "captains" double bunk
and pine wardrobe. |

The top floor is
really Hobie Cottage's "piece de resistance"
comprising one large en-suite (shower and loo)
bedroom with a superbly comfortable super King-size
bed, wardrobe and dressing table. Open the shuttered
windows for a panoramic view across Start bay or
from the rear take in the wonderfully picturesque
Slapton Ley nature reserve with its huge captive
lake, a home for assorted wildfowl and plethora of
other birdlife and wild flowers. |

Torcross is supported
by a village shop and post office, pub restaurant
and cafés. A five minute drive takes you to Stokeley
where the farm shop provides a supply of everyday
needs. Similar distances are the villages of
Stokenham, Slapton and Strete providing good family
pubs and a selection of restaurants. Within twenty
minutes are the towns of Dartmouth and Kingsbridge
with Salcombe a further ten. |
